Network Meeting
Taking advantage of the FJCC in Houston, I have scheduled a meeting of
the Network Working Group in room Astro VII of the Astroworld Hotel at
8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 1970.
The purpose of this meeting is to discuss several topics related to
the practical use of the network. I have in mind:
(a) accounting mechanisms
(b) documentation distribution
(c) person-to-person message sending and message storing
(d) access to systems by foreign users
Attendees are invited to raise other topics.
I envision that this meeting will spawn smaller subsidiary meetings
during the FJCC to pursue these or related topics.
Prospective attendees should notify my secretary Benita Kirstel (213)
825-2368 so that we can be sure the room is large enough. Unexpected
attendees are nevertheless invited.

§1Meeting Time and Place
Steve Crocker scheduled a Network Working Group meeting in room Astro VII of the Astroworld Hotel in Houston. It was set for 8:00 p.m. on Monday, 16 November 1970, during the Fall Joint Computer Conference.
The notice gives a time and place for a Network Working Group meeting in Houston. It is an announcement, not a report of what happened there.
§1Topics for Practical Network Use
The proposed topics are accounting mechanisms, documentation distribution, person-to-person message sending and storage, and access to systems by foreign users. Attendees are invited to raise other topics.
Crocker expects smaller subsidiary meetings during the conference to pursue these or related subjects.
The group plans to discuss accounting, sharing documents, person-to-person messages and access for users from other sites. Participants may add topics, and smaller meetings may follow.
§1Attendance and Follow-up
Prospective attendees are asked to notify Benita Kirstel so organizers can make sure the room is large enough. The note says unexpected attendees are also welcome.
People planning to attend are asked to notify the organizer's secretary so the room can be prepared. The notice also welcomes people who arrive without advance notice.
